Fern Square Velvet Cushion - Navy & Green

This 'Fern' cushion design is one of Aline's most popular and can be seen in person by visiting Grange Gallery, Wareham.

Aline Johnson is a Glass and Textile Artist, she developed her passion for cyanotype in 2020 by designing and making a vibrant range of printed cushions, working with velvet and cotton.

The cyanotype printing technique is a photogram. A leaf or fern is placed on the fabric that is treated with photo sensitive chemicals and UV light exposes the area around the form that leaves a silhouette. Each image and colour varies because it is a photogram which makes each and everyone unique.

This sumptuous range was developed in her rural Dorset studio on the Isle of Purbeck.
